Keith Bird

Keith Bird is a self taught artist who mostly works with oil on canvas. A wide range of subjects and thoughts inspire him. He says “As a result of being born in the south of Essex, I have an affection for the Thames estuary and in particular the cockle industry at Leigh-on-sea. This provides me with inspiration for many of my paintings, for instance, my fisherman series. I try to blend melancholy and humour in much of my work. I often exaggerate movement, form and sometimes facial expressions, as a result my work has a quirky twist.”
