Candy Joyce (aka Flipping Zombies) spent her childhood in a contented flurry of drawing, colouring, and painting, she may have grown up since then but she never really grew out of it. Having gained a degree in fashion design she has since gone on to become a freelance illustrator and designer. She creates repeat patterns for fabric, wallpaper , gift wrap and boutique studios and designs event posters, illustrations and album covers! She also has an unnerving love of all things macabre!

Candy says “I have recently been working on using more colour in my artwork. For example I have been experimenting with pastels, watercolours, watercolour pencils, digital colouring and more. I created this series of watercolour portraits of modern day heroes and heroines such as Greta Thunberg, Emma Gonzales, Malala Yousafzai, Anne Frank, Sonita Alizadeh and David Attenborough. I’ve called this series ‘True Colours’. Greta by Flipping Zombies has bright tones because I wanted to show the energetic and positive impact of these amazing individuals. A couple of these portraits are featured in Issue 8 of Murze magazine.”
