Description
Keith is a self-taught artist who works mostly with oil on canvas. A wide range of subjects, situations, experiences, and thoughts inspire him. He says “As a result of being born in the south of Essex, I have an affection for the Thames estuary and in particular the cockle industry at Leigh-on-sea. This provides me with inspiration for many of my paintings, for instance, my fisherman series. I try to blend melancholy and humour in much of my work. I often exaggerate movement, form and sometimes facial expressions, as a result, my work has a quirky twist.”
Keith paints wonderful cityscapes, characterful portraits and exuberant seaside scenes. Window Gallery exhibited a selection of Keith Bird’s work in February 2019.
