Candy Joyce (aka Flipping Zombies) spent her childhood in a contented flurry of drawing, colouring, and painting, she may have grown up since then but she never really grew out of it. Having gained a degree in fashion design she has since gone on to become a freelance illustrator and designer. She creates repeat patterns for fabric, wallpaper , gift wrap and boutique studios and designs event posters, illustrations and album covers! She also has an unnerving love of all things macabre!

She says “Folklore and Folktales fascinate me because of their amazing ability to capture the spirit of a nation. In Central European folklore, Krampus is a horned figure described as “half-goat, half-demon”. During the Christmas season he punishes children who have misbehaved. In Merry Krampus by Flipping Zombies I used my love for detail to create the horns, skull and basket. I was more expressive with other parts of the image, for instance in the fur of Krampus’ body. “
